Rat–Ox Tenchusatsu personality and traits

The founder: builds from scratch and gains strength from independence.

The north stands for parents, superiors and what came before. With it open, tradition says Rat–Ox people get less ready-made backing from above, and so learn early to stand on their own. They are often called the “first generation” type (初代運): the one who starts the family business, moves to a new city or builds a career no one handed them.

What the north lacks, the south makes up for. The opposite branches 午未 stand for juniors, children and the future, and Rat–Ox people are often liked by younger colleagues and good with the next generation. Straightforward and warm, they can also be stubborn with authority: being told what to do rarely brings out their best.

Rat–Ox Tenchusatsu at work

Founding roles suit them: starting a team, a shop, a practice or a new line of business. In large organisations they do best with room to run their own project. Taking over a parent’s business unchanged is the case tradition is wary of; reshaping it into their own works better.

Rat–Ox Tenchusatsu in love and marriage

Love

Honest and devoted once committed, Rat–Ox people show love by doing. They tend to look for an equal rather than a protector, and appreciate a partner who backs their plans. Their directness can sting, so a quick apology goes a long way.

Marriage

Tradition says the family they build matters more to them than the one they came from. A home with its own rules, some distance from in-laws and shared plans for the future suit them. Children often bring out their best side.

For a real answer about two people, compare both charts: day masters, spouse palaces and elements weigh far more than the two types.

Rat–Ox Tenchusatsu compatibility with the six types

Type compatibility is read from where the two types sit on the six-step ring: the same type, neighbours whose void years run back to back, two steps apart, or opposite. The years shown are each type’s current or next void.

  • 子丑

    Rat–Ox Tenchusatsu × Rat–Ox Tenchusatsu

    Same type

You lack the same direction, so values and pace feel familiar and easy. You also enter the void together, so in those two years agree who carries the plans.

  • 午未

    Rat–Ox Tenchusatsu × Horse–Goat Tenchusatsu

    Opposite type: complementary

Horse–Goat (午未) lacks exactly what you hold, and the other way round: you look to the future, they honour roots and elders. Tradition counts this as the most complementary pairing, as long as each respects the other’s pace.

How Rat–Ox Tenchusatsu can spend the void

In the Rat–Ox years and the void months of December and January, the north is doubly open. Work on what you can control: skills, health, savings and the projects already running. Relations with bosses and parents can feel strained, so keep them calm rather than force a decision.
