Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use ezfate (ezfate.com, "we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What ezfate is

ezfate calculates charts from traditional Chinese systems, including Bazi (Four Pillars), Zi Wei Dou Shu and the Chinese zodiac, and explains them in plain language. The calculations follow published classical rules; the explanations, including any AI-written reading, are interpretations of those rules.

For reflection and entertainment

Readings are offered for self-reflection and entertainment. They are not predictions of fact and are not medical, psychological, legal, financial or other professional advice. Do not make important decisions about your health, relationships, money or career based on a reading alone; talk to a qualified professional instead. You are responsible for the decisions you make.

Who can use ezfate

You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher, to create an account.

Your account

Keep your sign-in details safe and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy).

Acceptable use

When using ezfate, do not:

• break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
• enter another person's birth details to harass, profile or discriminate against them;
• try to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' data;
• overload, scrape at scale, or interfere with the service, or resell it without our written permission;
• use the service to send spam or harmful content.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Free and paid features

The calculators are free. If we introduce paid features, their price and what you get will be shown before you pay, and any extra purchase terms will be shown at checkout. Consumer rights that the law of your country gives you are not affected.

Our content and others'

The site's text, design, illustrations and software are ours or licensed to us; you may share links and personal screenshots of your own charts, but not copy or republish the site's content in bulk. Classical texts quoted on the site are in the public domain. Some parts rely on third-party data and open-source software, including city data from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0) and the iztro Zi Wei Dou Shu engine (MIT License).

Availability and changes

We work to keep ezfate accurate and available, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and calculations may be updated as we fix errors or refine methods.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any decision you make based on a chart or reading. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if you have paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new date, and tell you in advance by email or on the site if a change materially affects you. Continuing to use ezfate after a change takes effect means you accept it.
